01|美国高档百货连锁店BARNEYS NEW YORK将在日本开设首家概念店

BARNEYS NEW YORK将于8月27日在日本西武涩谷B馆一楼开设其首家概念店。新店将提供各种男士服装、包包、鞋子和配饰,同时还将出售女士珠宝、包包和小型皮具。商场将展出BARNEYS NEW YORK的档案照片,其标志性马赛克艺术也将呈现在地板和墙壁装饰上。

BARNEYS NEW YORK will open its first concept store on 1st floor of Pavilion B, Seibu Department Shibuya-ku store, Japan. 

The new concept store will offer a variety of men's clothing, bags, shoes and accessories, as well as women's jewelry, bags and small leather goods. The shopping center will feature archival photographs of BARNEYS NEW YORK, and its iconic Mosaic art will be featured on the floor and wall decoration.

02|Shopping centers’ operator and developer Phillips Edison to be listed US: with market valuation about $3.1 billion

Phillips Edison & Company (stock code: PECO), a shopping mall operator and developer, has raised more than $300 million in an offering priced at $28 on NASDAQ.

Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Phillips Edison is a real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on investing in grocery stores and shopping centers. Phillips Edison owns stakes in 300 shopping centers in US. As of 20 July, Phillips Edison shares were trading at $27.95, giving it a market valuation of $3.1 billion.

新世界百货商店表示,将在水西站换乘中心综合园区建设新的百货商店,该项目用地11.5927万平方米,耗资大约为10亿美元。这是新世界百货第二次参与交通枢纽的综合项目建设,此前于2016年,新世界百货在同样为交通枢纽的大邱站开设了百货分店。

04|Shinsegae to open department store at Suseo Station in Korea

Shinsegae Department Store will build a new department store in the envisioned Suseo Station Transit Center Complex in Korea, the company said. The complex is worth about $1 billion and has the building land of 115,927 sqm.It is the second time the department store is participating in a project involving a train transit complex. In 2016, the company opened a department store branch at Dongdaegu Station.

For the envisioned department store in Suseo, Shinsegae said the operating area would be about 83,000 sqm, and it would become its second largest department store after its Gangnam Branch.“This project holds the great potential to develop the southeast area of Seoul and the surrounding Metropolitan area as a regional hub,” Shinsegae Department Store CEO Cha Jeong-ho said.

05|Department stores in South Korea get artsy

Art is becoming a marketing tool for department stores in the pandemic era, as they host art exhibitions to win back customers who now spend more time than ever shopping online.

In its shareholders’ meetings in March, Shinsegae Department Store decided to add exhibitions, sales, rental and consulting services related to art as its new businesses. Hyundai Department Store is running a project titled “art museum” at its Pangyo branch in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. Lotte will host art exhibition titled as “Art Lotte”.

01|香奈儿和劳力士将在仁川国际机场 T1开幕

仁川国际机场公司(IIAC)向穆迪·戴维特(Moodie Davitt)报道证实,香奈儿(Chanel)和劳力士(Rolex)将基于现代百货免税店的授权许可,于9月在仁川国际机场1号航站楼各开一家精品店。香奈儿将在航站楼开设一家400平方米的豪华时尚珠宝店,劳力士则将在航站楼开设一家212平方米的豪华手表店。

Chanel and Rolex will each open a boutique at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 in September, under Hyundai Department Store Duty Free’s licence, Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) confirmed to The Moodie Davitt Report. Chanel will open a 400 sqm luxury fashion and jewellery store, while Rolex will open a 212 sqm luxury watch store in the terminal.

American sportswear brand New Balance has brought its ‘T-House’ concept store to Japan.Located in Tokyo’s east on the Nihonbashi Hamacho strip, the new concept store is a melange of modern design and traditional Japanese tearoom culture. 

Set over two stories, the new concept store was designed by Tsunemu Nagasaka at Schemata Architects and features a traditional Japanese warehouse (‘kura’) constructed some 120 years ago.

06|Rent the Runway将IPO

06|Rent the Runway to IPO

According to Reuters, US clothing rental platform Rent the Runway has submitted IPO documents to US regulators, but the number of shares issued and the target price range of IPO have not been determined. 

Founded in 2009, New York based Rent the Runway provides customers with more than 750 designer brands of clothing and second-hand goods rental services. It is noteworthy that the valuation of Rent the Runway decreased to $750 million from $1 billion last year.

07|Stüssy will open its first store in Paris in October

Street fashion brand Stüssy recently announced that it would open its first store in France and the 28th in the world in October at Rue du Temple 44 in Paris, covering an area of 180 square meters. 

Stüssy was founded by Shawn Stüssy and his colleague Franck Sinitra Jr. in the early 1980s in Laguna Beach, California. It also has stores in China, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. It also opened its official flagship store on Tmall at the end of last year.

The Fifth Avenue store replaces temporarily the DIOR flagship store on 57th Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues, which is undergoing renovations, though a section of the first floor will stay open for business during the project.

01|Puma第二季度收入几乎翻倍

German sportswear brand Puma announced its Q2 initial revenue, with sales nearly doubled to 1.589 billion euros and earnings before interest and tax of about 109 million euros.

Given the positive growing trend, Puma expects currency adjusted sales to grow by at least 20% in 2021, higher than its previous forecast for sales growth this year, and earnings before interest and tax to be between 400 million euros to 500 million euros.

03|Burberry reported a 121% increase in full-price comparable sales in its latest quarter report

British luxury goods group Burberry has recently released the Q1 report of fiscal 2021 (by 26 June, 2021). "Despite the challenging environment in Q1, we achieved a further acceleration in full-price sales," Burberry said. 

Comparable store retail sales increased 90% from the same period last year and 1% from the same period in 2019 (pre-epidemic), driven by a 121% increase in full-price comparable sales (26% higher than the same period in 2019).

04|上半年国内化妆品零售额达1917亿元

7月15日,国家统计局发布上半年社会消费品零售数据,社会消费品零售总额达到211904亿元,同比增长 23.0%。其中化妆品类上半年的零售额为1917亿元,同比增长26.6%。

国家商务部表示,上半年社会消费品零售总额增速稳中有升,消费信心逐步恢复,消费市场活力显现。


04|Domestic retail sales of cosmetics reached ¥17.7 billion in the first half of 2021

National Bureau of statistics released data on retail sales of consumer goods in the first half of 2021 on 15 July. The total retail sales of consumer goods reached ¥2.0104 trillion, up 23.0% y-o-y. Among which, the retail sales of cosmetics was ¥17.7 billion, up 26.6% y-o-y.

According to the statement of Ministry of Commerce, the growth rate of total retail sales of consumer goods was improved with steady speed, consumer confidence gradually restored and the energy of the market regained.
 
05|Puma二季度销售额同比翻番

05|Puma's sales doubled from a year earlier in Q2

Puma, German sportswear brand that sponsors the Italian national football team, also had a record performance on the back of Italy's historic victory at this year's European Championship. Puma announced on 16 July that it was raising its full-year forecast after a fruitful Q2.

Puma's sales in Q2 of 2021 almost doubled to €1.589 billion, up 96% from a year earlier. This is also a significant increase from the pre-pandemic sales of €1.227 billion in Q2 of 2019.

Puma's EBIT also showed positive growth. It posted a profit of €80 million in Q2 of 2019, compared with a loss of €115 million in 2020. Management expects EBIT to post a profit of €109 million in the first half if 2021.

Uniqlo parent company Fast Retailing announced its results for Q3 of fiscal 2021 ( by the end of May 2021) recently. The greater China region recorded a significant increase in both revenue and profit in Q3 alone. To date, Uniqlo operates more than 800 stores in the mainland of China. In the future, Uniqlo will open 80-100 stores a year to enhance its presence in China.

08|Salvatore Ferragamo第二季度收入大涨逾90%

08|Salvatore Ferragamo's revenue jumped more than 90% in Q2

Salvatore Ferragamo's sales rose 91.3% in the three months to 30 June compared with the same period a year earlier, pushing first-half revenue up 44.1% to €524 million on the back of strong performances in markets such as China, North America, Latin America and South Korea, each has market growth of 45%, 103%, 64.8% and 21.9% respectively.

By category, all of Salvatore Ferragamo's main product categories increased in the first half of 2021 compared with the same period last year, with footwear and leather goods both recording increases of nearly 44% to 223 million and 235 million euros, representing 43% and 45% of total revenue respectively.

09|Shares in JNBY rose nearly 10%, pushing its market valuation to its highest by now

Shares of Chinese clothing retailer JNBY rose 9.48% to HK$18.02 on 20 July, beating the earlier HK$16.80 expected by Citibank. It has gained nearly 105% since the start of the year. Its latest market valuation was HK $9.3 billion, setting a new record by now.

Notably, the group stated it expected net profit ( in the six months to 30 June) to surge by more than 80% when compared with a year earlier, on the back of an improvement in the epidemic and dividends from an upgraded retail channel for its stores.

10|Decathlon became the official partner of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and Paralympic Games

Decathlon has become the official partner in the three-year countdown to the 2024 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in Paris. In addition to customizing the eco-designed clothing for 45,000 volunteers, Decathlon will also be the integral promoter of the sporting experience for the Paris Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. 

The partnership will start from the summer of 2021 and end in the summer of 2024 and will take various forms: full support for volunteer work, promotion activities in France, development and sales of new products.

11|亚太房地产成为海外投资者的首选目标

根据世邦魏理仕最新的进出报告,海外房地产投资者在亚太地区加大了投资力度,在2021年上半年完成的办公楼、零售、工业和酒店房地产交易中,海外房地产投资者在亚太区的投资占到了全球156亿美元市场的41%,同比高于2020年上半年的35%的占比。

同时该报告指出,澳大利亚主导着太平洋地区的交易活动,在上半年155亿美元的交易中占到了146亿美元,远远高于2020年同期的108亿美元。离岸买家活动的比例高达43%,远超去年同期的37%。


11|Asia Pacific real estate being targeted by offshore investors

According to CBRE's latest In and Out Report, offshore property investors have upped the ante in the Asia Pacific region, accounting for 41% of the $15.6 billion in office, retail, industrial and hotel property transactions finalised in H1 of 2021, which is compared to a 35% share in H1, 2020.

At the same time, the report noted that Australia dominated Pacific transaction activity, accounting for $14.6 billion of the $15.5 billion H1 sales tally. This was significantly up on the $10.8 billion in sales recorded in the comparative period in 2020. The proportion of offshore buyer activity was even higher in Australia at 43%, up from 37% at the same time last year.

The funds will be used to acquire and operate third-party brands on Amazon's e-commerce site.
 
02|LV母公司收购潮牌Off-White

据时尚商业快讯,全球最大奢侈品集团LVMH于日前收购了旗下核心品牌Louis Vuitton男装创意总监Virgil Abloh个人品牌Off- White的多数股权,但未透露金额等具体细节。交易完成后,LVMH将持有Off-White 60%的股份,Virgil Abloh则持有剩余的40%,意大利的New Guards Group 将继续作为Off-White 的许可经销商。


02|LV parent company acquires popular brand Off-White

LVMH, the world's largest luxury group, recently acquired a majority stake in Virgil Abloh, the creative director of Louis Vuitton men's wear, a personal brand Off-White, but did not disclose the amount and other details, according to FashionNetwork news. 

After the completion of the transaction, LVMH will hold 60% of Off-White's shares, Virgil Abloh will hold the remaining 40%, and Italy's New Guards Group will continue to be Off-White's licensed distributor.
 
03|传LVMH旗下私募基金收购意大利时装品牌Etro控股权

据路透社援引知情人士消息,全球最大奢侈品集团LVMH旗下私募基金L Catterton已和意大利时装公司Etro达成协议,将收购后者60%的股份,令Etro的估值达5亿欧元。

Etro创立于1968年,曾于2019年吸引了Valentino母公司Mayhoola基金的关注。据Etro大股东Gefin于2019年公布的财务报表,当时该品牌营业额超过2.8亿欧元。截至目前,Etro拒绝对收购消息作出回应,LVMH和L Catterton则暂未置评。


03|It is said that LVMH's private equity fund acquired the controlling interest of Italian fashion brand Etro

Private equity fund L Catterton of LVMH, the world's largest luxury goods group, has agreed with Italian fashion company Etro to buy 60% of the latter's shares, according to Reuters, citing the resources of people familiar with the situation.

Founded in 1968, Etro attracted the attention of Valentino's parent company, Mayhoola fund, in 2019. According to the financial statements released by Gefin, the majority shareholder of Etro, in 2019, the brand's turnover at that time exceeded 280 million euros. So far, Etro has refused to respond to the acquisition news, while LVMH and L Catterton have not commented yet.
